Starting the Game
Choose your Difficulty
For this guide I will play in classic mode.
Choose your ATB-Mode
I highly recommend the Wait-Mode!
The
Active-Mode is really fast and you will have trouble when more than one character has his ATB
full.
The Wait-Mode has currently a freeze that can happen when the ATB if full for a
character right after a turn or hit from an enemy.
Save regularly and either change the Speed stat of the
affected character via equipment or change to Active Mode when you encounter it.
Prologue
You can skip the prologue.
You take control of Aiden.
During the
prologue the menu is not available.
You can interact with the statues and graves, the goddes will only bless
you with luck.
On the next map you learn how to run with Shift.
This part differs from the demo.
The
door is locked, so proceed.
use your skills. Defending will recover some HP the first time and Attacking some HP. Use them in tandem (Defend/Attack/Defend/Attack) for the best effects. You cannot win…
Chapter I - The Ascendant Son
Vereta Highlands
100 days prior to the prologue.
Your answer doesn’t matter here.
You take control over Johan and gain access
to running and the menu.
When running/swimming you cannot open the menu and stopping needs a bit of wait until
you can open it.
In the guide you will find a map that will help you with navigation between the maps, the
red marker is your current destination.
The guide will also keep track of enemies fought, quests, tutorials and
fishing.
In the settings you can still change the ATB-Mode and some more.
Items (starting map): none
Before you head north, explore the south.
Collectibles (like mushrooms, herbs, or other medical plants) won’t be marked anymore after the
first time (not every mushroom you see can be collected).
Same for money lying on the floor.
Some rocks can
be pushed.
Pet Zach’s cat Nippy twice to
increase Johan’s MP by 1.
Choose if you want to pilfer Zach’s personal stash with 427 Gold.
Talk to the guard, you cannot proceed further
west.
Time to head north.
Learn about the Goddess Statues (heals only once) and
swimming.
In Story Mode you will obtain Goddess Tears from her instead of the healing.
Throw 20 Coins into
the wishing well to increase Johan’s MP by 1 (no more rewards).
Use the Ruby!
Before you head further north, explore the west.
You cannot proceed further west.
You cannot proceed further south.
Vereta Summit - Village
You have to look closely to find the underwater cave (next to the bridge)!
The Tavern is closed during the day and even has a back
entrance.
You can even push some crates.
Use the Silver Key to enter the SW house.
In there you can
find another Ruby, enjoy other findings but the next door is locked again.
You cannot enter your mother’s
Amalia House yet.
In the General Store buy the Farming Gloves and equip them.
You can even buy
potions/antidotes but you cannot pilfer anything and jumping down the stairs can get you thrown out.
Bring Kimmy in the General Store 1x Lavender Herb (that from the Fae’s House) to obtain 200 Gold. Only available until you beat Zach.
Talk to the
fisherman Kuno behind the store and find his hidden fishing spot in the woodlands (not
reachable yet).
He
leaves once you talk to Zach.
Meet Zach west of the cave (the spot) to obtain Amaterasu.
The dialogue from the villagers have changed.
Head to Elysia
Bridge.
Talk to Zach and do the tutorial battle (you even earn 2 EXP and Elixir).
One hidden mechanic the
game does not teach you is that if you defend, you can use items without losing your defensive stance! This
includes using offensive items gained later.
Follow him.
You don’t need bridges to cross the swamps…
Monsters will respawn when changing
maps.
Cast Bolt against Blue Goop (Magic Jelly) and attack the Slithers (Fang) physically.
Their weaknesses
and drops will the shown in the bestiary.
100% is standard, higher means weakness, lower means strenght, 0%
means immunity.
Note: only mobs that have no extra condition to appear will respawn.
You will
unleash your Relica when the bar is filled.
Relica attack can be interrupted but the bar will deplete when the
battle ends.
Poison will be restored after battle so defeat the blue Venemous Slithers ASAP, as only those
are
poisonous.
You will encounter 2 Goops and the fire one will deal massive burning damage until you can
cast Bolt the 2nd time.
Best deal with the blue one first and defeat the red one with an Relica.
On
classic mode I recommend grinding on the first map buying potions in the village.
When level up your HP/MP recover.
You
will obtain 3-4 free stats to distribute each level up.
Magic increases both Magic Attack and
Defense.
Thanks to the recovery mechanic Magic, MP and HP are recommended.
You will notice the difference
for each 10 Stats.

Don’t put stats in Attack for Johan as later his weapon upgrades will make those put in points go to waste.
After you have found
the chest with the Hi-Potion, you will be ambushed an Alpha Hunter and normal Hunter (Fang).
Each hit will
cost you between 50 and 100 HP and 2x app. 150 HP damage when using a skill!
Picking the Lavender will
attract a Grizzly (Bear Claw) with high HP.
Utilize attack and defend in the beginning if you don’t have enough
MP. You should be faster than the bear so you may be able to sneak in Bolt or an attack before it has a turn. But
maintain your defense before it attacks to help reduce its powerful attacks.
Head east to find a statue of Lucina and a Gorchid (the budding flower) guarding 2x Wild Shrooms.
Yeah, heal at the statue of Lucina and then talk to Zach.
Unleash some Relica Attacks on him, Bolt can even cause Shock (as well as Johan can be frozen). It is possible to beat him and obtain an Elixir and 15 EXP.
Chapter I - The Ascendant Son (Part 2)
Vereta Summit - Village
You obtain 200 Gold for shopping.
Enjoy the other findings like 65 Gold (and 280 Gold if you dare to steal from your mom) and the free rest in your own bed.
Play tag with Sue next to the tavern.
Run to Phil in the cave.
15 seconds (or
25 seconds for the quest) are doable if you have moved the crate next to the shop out of the way before you start
(and the NPC is gone from the bridge).
Your reward for 15 seconds are 2x Unicorn Horn (only one for 25
seconds).
You can try until you win (or head home after shopping), later Sue is at home.
In the Tavern you meet Kimmy again.
The barkeeper will gift you a Magic
Shroom.
But not your first pint yet.
Try doing your errand at the general store (you cannot leave the
village), but there is nothing new to buy or any ingredients (restock!!!).
Return and report to Amelia but Zach
is faster.
Zach joins the party and you cannot return for now.
You will be ambushed by 2
Alphas near the pillar.
Find the campfire and rest for free in the tent.
Kuno is right
south!
Veritas Ruins - Fish Pond
Follow Kuno to
the south.
East of Kuno get ambushed by a Gorchid after you have collected the 10 Gold, hit it with
ice.
First talk to Kuno to obtain the starter Fishing Rod and 20x Worm.
Fishes (you need to spam ↑ to bring them in): Whitefish x4 (level 1, smallest ones), Trout x3 (level 2, big blue fish, best from near), Bigmouth Bass x3 (level 3, green ones, best from near).
Little trick: once you have the attention of the fish, start pulling in!
You can cancel with X and the ponds will refresh after you have progressed to certain points in the story.
SW from the camping area at the Vereta - Abandoned Ruins, you can find a Hi-Potion,
defeat another Gorchid, a little pond with one fish (not fishable), NW from the ruins you can reach a Ruby.
In
the ruin a Mimic, best defeat it with Spells and Relicas and get 999 Gold, Wooden Pendant and Lightning Rune.
Head NW from the camping area where you find a Statue of Lucina and near the chest with 2x Ether you are ambushed by 2 slimes.
Enter the Grotto to proceed (you cannot fish for some time once you enter).
Vereta Mountain – Grotto
You
cannot leave the Grotto and the mobs are stronger than before.
Purple Slimes are the stronger version of the
red slimes which resist fire and ice, but cast a spell
when the Flutter-Fang’s Evasion is buffed (drops Bat
Wing).
You have to push Boulders onto the switches (plates) to reach the Ruby.
Defeat the Bat, step on
the plate and obtain a Goldne Elixir.
Check out the western borders of the map to find another plate and
Wild Shroom on map 3.
Push a boulder on the plate to reveal another Wooden Pendant.
Please don’t trap
yourself here.
On map 5 is a Statue of Lucina (save it until you have repaired the 2nd bridge).
Step on
the plate to reveal a Revival Stone.
Step on the SW plate and push a boulder on the east plate to repair the
1st bridge.
Step on the plate to reveal a Life Tonic.
You can ignore the bud.
Proceed to the SE (map
6).
Step on the plate and defeat the Grizzly with fire.
Return to map 5 and heal at the Statue of
Lucina.
Cross the 2nd bridge to map 7.
Exit the cave to the NE.
weak to
water/ice, immune to fire, frozen, shock, poison and burn. Survive
until the Wyvern flees. You earn 18 EXP, 5
Gold and Dragon Scale.
Amaterasu (Johan) gains Flame.
Collect the Wild Shroom, Angel Feather and
Power Tonic.
Dive for 10 Gold x2, 2x Ethers and Hi-Potion.
Cross the lake, enter the last cave and step
onto the switch.
Dive and press the 2nd switch, climb up the ladder, gather the Magic Shroom, heal at the
Statue of Lucina (clear Zach’s equipment), pick the 3 Wild Shrooms and proceed.
Vereta
Lowlands
Zach has left and you cannot return to the Grotto (but you can still talk to Kuno and
fish).
When you try to reach the ruins SW of the camping area, you will get ambushed by wolves (this time you
have the flame spell).
Also Johan won’t enter the ruin alone.
Walk back home.
Vereta Summit - Village
Join Zach in the Tavern and
have any drink.
Then Johan will return home…
If you don’t follow Zach into the tavern, Johan will return to his room and you can save before you head down to talk to Amelia…
Main Quest “Nightmare Dreams”
Vereta Highlands
Once you have control over Johan again, return to the village.
Vereta Summit- Village
Head home…
Drago can be shocked. Only defend, at the 2nd turn after the Wyvern cried. Heal with Potions or Shrooms. Shortly after the Fire Storm, they will flee.
Needed Items for Upgrades!
Those items should never be sold:
- Ethrel Shard
- Runes
- Dragon Scales (2 needed),
- Fairy Wings (8 needed in total),
- Hi-Potions,
- Angel Feathers (12 needed)
- Black Skulls (2 needed) and more.
Chapter II: The Exile’s Warning
Omalas Ridge
Omenera Shrine, Hall of Reflection
Aiden obtains the Magus Cloak
and Aldus’ Letter.
Note that Inventory and Equipment are linked to certain characters, so don’t be confused that you don’t have the same inventory as Johan.
When you walk back, you will notice the organ, stained glass and an old Statue of Lucina.
Going south you will find the Map of Omalas and a new Statue of Lucina.
First explore the east wing and collect Angel Feather, Aiden’s Bed (free rest), 800 Gold,
Crimson
Scarf, Elixir, Ruby and Iron Key.
Not in the Demo is the little garden west of Aiden’s room with a Unicorn Horn.
Further south gather an Angel Feather and exit the building (End the Demo).
Ren
stops you and recommends going to Goro to the south.
You obtain an Ethrel Shard.
At the bridge notice the hooded
person.
But you should really follow him as the last choice.
The ice is slippery.
You will encounter Bogey
Spirits, just burn them away with Flames when they are invisible.
The path to the cave is from the
south.
It is too cold to swim.
Use the Iron Key at the shed with padlock to the south.
Inside
find Gauntlets and 376 Gold.
West of the smithy you can head north to the cave you have seen.
Defeat
the Frigid-Fangs and find an Elixir.
Jax needs something to warm himself, so bring him 8 Blaze Shrooms for 960 Gold and Ethrel Shard.
The bridge to Apotheus Mountain is
broken.
Enter the smithy and meet Goro.
You need 2x Ethrel Shard to forge and 2000 Gold to upgrade your
weapon.
The next level needs double.
Kaempf sells items and some equipment.
The Rings are a tiny bit
expensive for now and you need to save 2000 Gold for the next characters weapon upgrade later.
You can rest for
free upstairs.
Rina tells Aiden about 2 Man-Eaters.
Your
destination is marked yellow on the map.
Note: The Man-Eater’s are too strong for now, best grind north of that
area a bit.
Bring their Minotaur Horns as proof and get an Ethrel Shard.
The Ghouls can poison as well Death’s Kiss (Instant
Kill with a certain chance) and is only weak to holy.
So save before you attack those!!!
There are hidden paths
between the trees, noticable via some leaves in the dark.
Save Ralph from the Silver Grizzly and obtain a Chain
Mail and 2x Elixir.
Behind a tree near the statue of Lucina you will get ambushed
by a Bogey.
Further north a Man-Eater appears from the woods (one is easier than two).
You can rest at the
campfire once.
Investigate the old storage.
Save Crysta from the Ghouls and start the quest Bodyguard.
Crysta is
a healer and knows wind and water spells.

Don’t put stats in Attack or Magic for Crysta as later her weapon upgrades will make those put in points go to waste and she only deals physical damage with bombs.
Don’t enter the northern cave yet.
Rune Fairies are currently too strong for Aiden, so avoid them until you
have Crysta in the party.
This Dark Fairy is weak to Holy, her Relica.
Note: The Man-Eaters are too strong for now, best wait until you have Crysta in the
party.
As the mobs in this area don’t respawn, is it your best bet.
After the battle can you rest at the campfire once.
Chapter II: The Exile’s Warning (Part 2)
Cave of Au Shun
Entrance
You cannot return for now.
Defeat the Ghoul (no
respawn) and collect 2x Blaze Shrooms.
As both bridges are down, proceed to the next map and push the boulder
onto the switch.
Return to the entrance and head east.
Find Elixir and slide onto the switch to repair
the western bridge.
Defeat the Yellow Goobs with water.
NE of Entrance
Touch the statue to
reset the puzzle.
Reward: Sapphire Ring
NW of Entrance
SE of Entrance
Defeat the Frigid- and Thunder-Fangs to reach the puzzle.
You can reset
the puzzle at the statue.
Slide around the western part of the ice and then follow the screenshots.
- Before you push the boulder the last time (red arrow) circle around to reach it from above.
Reward: 2x Ruby
Further south collect 10 Gold and find the exit you need to go.
Frosted Plateau
Items: 3x Blaze Shrooms, Ruby, Unicorn Horn, 2x Life Tonic, Sapphire Ring, 2x Ether
In the northern cave is a Statue of Lucina.
There is an ambush of a Dark Fairy near the
eastern bridge.
Note that those can call for a weaker Dark Fairy.
After you found the Ruby you are
ambushed by Silver Hunters.
Another chest is guarded by a pack of Silver Hunters.
Remember to save before you fight the ghouls.
Nameless Trail
Items: Ruby, Revival Stone
Defeat the Dark Fairy and Thunder Globs.
Azure Tree Chamber
Items: 2x Revival Stone,
Raza will sell some items and
equipment and will set camp here until you send him help.
Remember to keep 2000 Gold for smithing!
You can
trigger the tree barrier, but you will not receive any damage.
Frosted Ridge
Prepare and equip the Sapphire Rings!
deals high damage and can freeze a character. Weak to fire and resists water, so cast wind with Crysta if she isn’t healing.
Omega Edge (Aiden) and Amethyst Rod (Crysta) learn Frost.
Descendant Cave
Before you jump further down the slope, check the Omara Ruins to the east.
Omara Ruin
Riddle 1: You have to push the
frozen key to the fireplace.
Reward: Snow Shrine Key.
Unlock the gate and proceed.
Take the Ice Rune and return to the Decendant
Cave.
Jump down the slop.
Defeat the Thunder Fangs on the next map and proceed.
Plateau - Flooded Cave
You can only cross the lake, not swim.
Once you leave the cave
to the south, you cannot return for a while.
Frasca
You haven’t have the map
for the area yet.
New mobs are the Flame Slither (weak to ice) and the Lightning Toad (weak to water).
You cannot head west or enter the southern cave with Crysta, so proceed to the east.
Frasca
Items: 10 Gold x3, Blaze Shroom, 2x Ether, 2x Golden Elixir,
You cannot
leave the village for now.
You don’t have to buy the Map of Frasca, you will get one for free soon.
Don’t
forget to upgrade Crysta’s Staff if you have saved the 2000 Gold.
Talk to Jena in the first house and ask her about her daughter to obtain Jena’s Scroll.
Witness a scene at the
house west of Frasca’s Statue to proceed.
Once you have control again, follow Johan.
Chapter III: Fear & Fortitude
Frasca
Defeat the Sword and Spear Grunts with Johan and Aiden.
Plateau - Merchants Road
Items: Ether, 313 Gold, Chain Mail, Blaze Shroom,
Defeat
the Goblin.
Defeat the Grunts and pilfer their bodies for 2x Potions, Gauntlets and 76 Gold.
Defeat the
Grunt on the bridge and pilfer 32 Gold, but you cannot return further NW to Omalas.
Raza stands to the SW
and going near him will proceed the story.
So head east first.
Frasca - Outskirt's Road
The Flame Slither respawns.
In front of the southern cave camp
two Lightning Toads.
You can use the campfire to rest once.
The ladder up is cut.
You cannot return to Frasca for now.
Plateau - Merchants Road
Talk to Raza now and obtain another Map of Frasca.
Main Quest:
Noxious Detour
Try to enter the cave and defeat the Grunts and pilfer another Potion.
That is another flooded cave.
Proceed to the south.
Lower Plateau
Investigate the broken bridge.
Go
outside and now Grunts are blocking the bridge.
Defeat them and pilfer a Hi-Potion.
Try to proceed to
the south, defeat the grunts and pilfer 127 Gold and 2x Ether.
Head south.
Another cut ladder.
Cross the bridge to proceed.
After the
cutscene, mobs have appeared.
New is the Goliath Frog, the Slithers are known.
The ruins are empty and no
mob respawn.
The ladder to the south is cut, so head east.
Climb the Ruins and push the boulder on the switch to obtain Ethrel Shard, then unfurl the ladder.
To the north you will see Philip, follow him.
Hidden behind a waterfall (shallow waters) you
can swim to an Ethrel Shard.
Check the frog statues to obtain 300 Gold and Ruby.
The Lightning Toads don’t
respawn.
Head NW back to the Lower Plateau South and unfurl the ladder.
Now follow the kids into the
cave.
Talk to the Mina, ask about Philip, the cave
(you can rest for free here) and apologize for taking their treasures.
Give the girl either a Potion (not so
great) or Hi-Potion (much better) or refuse (you can still apologize) for the Ethrel Shard.
Lite the torch to repair the bridge.
Head further north and witness a requiem with Philip.
You take control of Johan
and have to talk to Philip.
Unfurl the ladder.
To the north you can reach the 1st flooded cave and swim
to gather Ruby and Topaz Ring.
To the west you will find Nora (Quest), so deliver Jena’s Scroll and obtain an
Ethrel Shard as reward.
To the east you can shop some herbs and fishing supplies (Rod, Filament, baits and
Fin Shoes) and a fishing pond.
Fishes: White Fish (1 star) x2, Trout (2 star) x3, Bigmouth Bass (3 star) x3,
Tuna (4 star) x2.
Return to the Lakeside and proceed south.
Morgas Wire
New are Dark Hornets, Warrior Wasps and Daffokills.
Known are the Goliath Frogs and Lightning
Toads camping as well as Flame Slithers (respawning).
You can jump on lotus leaves and unfurl the ladder to the
NW.
Proceed to the east.
Defeat the Goblin.
Save and cross the bridge.
You get help by Karuka, who should boost the party’s stats. Fury/Calm will raise ATK for DEF. Enigma will summon 2 Ghouls you should defeat ASAP! At the end of the battle your HP drops to 1 but you get EXP.
Karuka follows the
enemy to the east (and then the northern ruins).
The party heads south to rest.
Return from Mire’s Ridge back and follow Karuka (you cannot head south).
Items (Northern Ruins Entrance):
The Frog Statue spits arrows (5 HP damage per hit).
Behind it
you find a boulder you can push on the switch to obtain a Golden Key.
Use it to unlock the ruins.
Chapter III: Fear & Fortitude (part 2)
Halls of Tyrannus
Entrance (Hall 1)
Tablet: Passaros shall
pass.
Touch the statue to reset the puzzle.
- Push the upper west boulder on the switch at the west side (ignore the others for now).
- Step on the eastern switch and take the Gold Key.
- Defeat the Fire Ghoul.
- Push another boulder on the now free southern switch and obtain a Ethrel Shard.
- Unlock the gate to proceed.
Hall 2
Items: 2x Hi-Potion, 10 Gold, Gold Key
Avoid getting hit by the shurikens
(5 HP damage per hit and some knock back).
Step on the switch and defeat the Bare-Bones with
ice.
Hall 3
Talk to Karuka twice and
promise her the head of Enigma and she joins the party.
Unlock the northen gate, but let’s explore the side
halls clockwise.
Free the Goblin-Smith and upgrade Amaterasu to learn Electric Swirl.
Upgrade Omega Edge
to learn Meteor Thrust.
items (NE):
Step on the switch and you have 40 seconds to open the chest
(only appears during the first try) and then cross the gate up north.
You cannot bypass part of the traps by
returning to the main hall and heading north and then east.
If you really cannot get through, you have to
dismiss either one of the treasure rooms or the blacksmith to the north.
Saves zones (green) per trap (note that the chest doesn’t appear each time you hit the button):
- Run when the shuriken just leave the middle and don’t stop until you reach the point on the next screenshot and then save!!!
- The remaining traps are easy, open the chest with an Amethyst Ring and cross the gate in the remaining time.
- Get the last Key and drop down.

Items (SE):
Defeat the Goliath Frog and Lightning
Toad.
Dive to the switch and take the Gold Key.
Defeat the Fire Ghoul to the north and cross the gate to the
east hall.
- First jump to the east, step on the switch and defeat all the Daffokills.
- Push the boulder near the eastern gate and step on the switch.
- Jump to the west side and step on the switch.
- Push the boulder on the last switch.
- Defeat the Fire Ghouls.
- Push the next boulder from the broken part of the wall and then on the next switch to reach the remaining chests.
- Exit the map to the NW and unfurl the ladder.
Avoid the traps and head west.
Defeat the Goblins
and take another Gold Key.
Return and proceed.
You can jump from the wall after you have found the last
Gold Key there.
Hall 4 (Chamber of Worship)
- Push the switch underwater and obtain the Gold Key.
- Solve the puzzle (just don’t push the tiles into the upper row).
- Push the lever to the east and defeat the Blue Mimic (earning another 1499 Gold) and obtain an Ethrel Shard and Mystic Earring.
- Push the lever back to the west and the last gates open.
- Take the Ruby and proceed.
Roof
Prepare and use the Statue of Lucina if necessary.
Unlock the last
gate.
Stairway
Items: Angel Feather, Dragon Scale
Step on the unused switch to
reach the chests.
Step on the other switch to proceed.
Courtyard
Karuka cannot be stopped, so use the chance to check Crysta’s equipment (her level is adjusted to the party’s).
immune to fire and thunder, weak to wind and ice.
Amaterasu, Omega Edge, Amethyst Rod and Barbed Spear learn Quake.
Here is another Statue of Lucina.
Proceed to the
west.
Roof (storm)
Equip the Amethyst Rings (especially to Crysta), another option is
Sapphire Ring.
weak to ice and water, other elements deal normal damage, but save your MP for the Relicas. Heal/restore fast as he can cast a Multi-hit-spell, hitting 6 random characters. Curse will drop the HP to 1 and he can freeze. Defeat him.

Take control of Johan and the menu is currently not available.
You can
steal 250 Gold from the drawer.
Follow Crysta.
Chapter IV: A Tenacious Road
Nysas - Rustic Rose Inn
Items: Ethrel Shard (hidden), 317 Gold (hidden), 10 Gold x2, 71 Gold (house), 2x Potion, 10 Gold (shop). 2x Magic Shroom (shop)
Karuka is missing.
The innkeeper Rosa has no
new information for you.
There are some hidden chests below the inn:

You cannot
leave the area (not even swimming) without a map.
The wandering merchant Jaques sells items and
bombs.
You can steal Petras’ stash in the shop (675 Gold).
Talk to the shopkeeper Dagen about the Area,
Runes (Quest Rune Hunter, Map of Nysas), Omara and shop.
Swim to the south and gather 10 Gold x2 and 3x Hi-Potion.
Rosa's Beach
Items: 10 Gold x4, 4x Potion, 2x Ruby
New mobs: Spiked Crawb, Spiral Crawb (weak to thunder), Foul Cap (immune to earth, water).
Dunes of Scoundrels
Items: Lavender x2, 2x Lavender, 10 Gold x7, Potion
Know mobs: Spiked and Spiral Crawb
When you pilfer the cave, you will be ambushed by 3 bandits, Burly, Barry and Beau.
They
have nice comments when hit with different Status Elements (Poison, Burn, Frozen and Shocked) and can steal your
items or money (you get it back after those three are defeated).
They will be back.

You cannot proceed further in.
You can talk to some grunts and Petras in the
tavern.
She sells Potions and Golden Elixirs.
Talk to Callas and Lexz and try to enter the city (behind the guards).
Enter the guard house to proceed.
You cannot enter the inn now, so head into the tavern and witness the
scene near Callas.
You cannot run after Lexz, so talk to Callas.
Your answer doesn’t matter.
Duel Callas vs Johan: Callas can be shocked, burned and poisoned (item). But he resists wind and his attacks only Lucky Coin (either damage or miss). Defeat him with Ascendant Son (Relica) and then he won’t hold back anymore. Reapply Burn and Poison and defeat him.
You obtain the Prince’s Sigil.
Chapter V: Echos and Redemptions
Alexandria - South Gate
Choose your answers.
If you have noticed his reactions in
earlier cutscenes, he should choose to sleep with Aiden.
You can steal the stash of 175 Gold in the
inn.
Talk to the grunts.
Talk to the Sergeant in the inn and hunt
down an Ogre for him.
You can find it in the Omnious Den.
Weak to wind, but resists fire/ice/thunder, immune to earth, burn, shock, frost and poison. If he is angry, he shakes the earth. Drops Ogre’s Lug.
Exlore the Ogre’s Lair/Ruins (Quest Rune Hunter):
- First put the pillars like in the screenshot (Touch the statue to reset)
- First follow the red arrow and then the yellows and stop at the marked spot!
- First follow the red arrow and then the yellow one.
- Follow the screenshot and push until the slate enters the last hole.
- Obtain 1100 Gold, Ethrel Shard and Wind Rune.
Remember to attune one of your Gust spells!
Deliver the Loot to the sergeant and obtain a Regen Ring

Ball in the house next to the smithy.
You obtain the Mimic Pearl, another summoning tool.

Report to Pliny and change to Lance.
Mount Apotheo
When you enter the volcano, you cannot return anymore.

Amethyst Rod learns Flame.
Golden Sword or Barbed Speer learns
Flame.
Note: there are a total of 4 Magma Serpents, so change to the other character, so he/she can learn Flame.
Don’t walk into the lava (10 HP damage) and defeat the Fire Ghouls.

Johan fights alone, a Regen Ring will help, even if he is burned (or you equip a Ruby or Diamond Ring). Heal with Potions or Chakra. Drago can summon his dragon for one turn each time. Shock doesn’t work anymore, but poison hits. Normal Attacks and his best Relica are enough to beat him.
Final Chapter VII: An Irreplaceable Rapture
Zelos Castle
Enter the Castle.
Head into the first room you encounter.
Take 3x
Hi-Potion.
You need an Astra Shard for the barrier (deals 10 HP damage).
Progress at the stairs.
You
can either fight or follow them.
Following might be better.
Enter the next room and take 4x Dragon Scale
and Golden Elixir.
Read Drago’s journal.
Proceed to the Great Hall.
The Ghouls are no enemies for
now.
Take the Goddess Tear (don’t use it on Casual Mode!!!), 4x Magic Shrooms notice the barriers
and traps.
Step on the upper right switch and get 5x Bomb.
It also disables the spikes to the south, so try
to proceed there.
To the east are the kitchens.
Find 3x Ham Shanks, 2x Peach Marmalade and 1928
Gold.
To the north the story proceeds.
Defeat the Aeon Swordsman, but you cannot heal between fights.
when she charges her scythe, defend and throw a Toxic Shroom at her.
Now is
the best chance to remove unique equipment from Johan.
Further north is the library and
Cretus.
Villaroya - Port Side
The Rune Shop has moved to the smithy.
Tamara has moved her shop
into the shop on the cliff, but the rope ladder has been removed.
Right east of the smity the story will
progress.
Talk to either of the three and then to each of
them again.
Talk to Pliny again to depart.
Zelos Island
You cannot
return.
Defeat the Ghouls, who as you know have an instant kill move.
Those will respawn until you defeat
the Brothers.
There’s a rare possibility that a Pandora Cap can cause a soft-lock.
Meet the friendly spirit and talk to
it.
Offer it a Dragon Scale and obtain 3x Ruby.
Note: Don’t use those Rubies, you need them for another spirit!
Note the barrier and proceed.
Defeat the Pandora Caps (Wear the Diamond and Amethyst Rings!).
Return to the cave and disable
the barrier with the Astral Shard.
Offer the spirit a Black Skull to obtain an Amethyst Ring.
Defeat the Pandora Caps.
Find
the Astral Shard in the cave and defeat the Trog (immune to earth, weak to wind).
Disable the
barrier.
Proceed to the north.
Defeat the Pandora Caps.
The
friendly spirit sells Cosmic gear, Angel Feathers and Black Skulls.
Buy one additional set of Cosmic Gear for
Johan.
For the other you warns you about the two brothers (elemental serpent and force serpent).
Offer the
3rd spirit a Ruby to obtain 3 Unicorn Horns (keep them for now!).
Offer the 4th spirit an Angel Feather to
obtain 2x Ethrel Shard.
Note the barrier and the hidden path through the trees.
Head north.
Defeat the Trog and you can rest at the campfire once.
Defeat the Ghouls.
With the Astral Shard return to the Spirit Gathering Area.
Behind
that barrier is a smithy.
You should have enough Ethrel Shards to upgrade the last weapon to level
5.
Items (outside of castle): none
They are mentioned by the spirit: One masters the elements (red one) and the other physical force (black one). The strength of one is the weakness of the other.
Zelos Castle
Items (Entrance Hall):
Defeat the Ghouls in the west
room.
Avoid the traps in the east room, wait for the last to move mosty synchrone.
Progressing north will
proceed the main story.
Defeat the Aeon Swordsman and Mage.
Pilfer their corpses and gain Astral Shard
and Fire Rune.
Items (Great Hall):
As long as you have followed the guide, the trap to the north
should be open.
The switches next to that trap can change the spikes and you can head west.
Push the crate at the stairs onto the switch to the SE and obtain a Gold Key.
Offer the spirit in the SW a Goddess
Tear to obtain an Ethrel Shard.
The merchant spirit in the center sells Angel Feathers, Cosmic Gauntlets and
some Jeweled Rings.
Offer the northern spirit a Unicorn Horn to obtain 2x Ethrel Shard.
SW room:
- Step on the eastern most switch to reach 5x Angel Feather.
- Step on the other switch and proceed
- Step on one of the other switches and you can reach 3x Revival Stones.
- Step on the switch next to the ghouls and defeat them (beware the location you fight them or you will pushed into the trap).
- Take the Astral Shard and 5x Potion.
- Step on one of the last switches and jump to the exit.
Defeat the Aoens in the eastern kitchen and pilfer Gold Key, 3255 Gold and Holy Rune.
Dissolve the middle barrier and unlock the door with the Gold Key and find the final Smithy and Rune Shop here.
Unlock the other door with the Gold Key and find 5x Power Tonic and 5x Unicorn Horn.
Swap the trap and dissolve the NE barrier.
Remember Drago’s Chamber to the NW?
Dissolve the barrier there and find the Aeon
Suit.
Before you head north…go east!
Defeat the Aeon (nothing to pilfer).
Disable the barrier
in the room you near the wyvern landing spot and find 5000 Gold.
The wyvern is not on the roof.
Head
north and defeat the Aoens (nothing to pilfer).
Unlock Cestus’ Chamber (library) with the Gold Key and take 3x
Revival Stone and 3x Ethrel Shard.
Dissolve the barrier and proceed.
Astra
Jumping south you find Tabatha
from Vereta.
Jump further east to find a Goddess Tear and Sue (you cannot rest at the campfire).
Proceed to
the north.
Even if you cannot understand the friendly spirits, you can still attune runes at the Rune
Shop.
Talk to Lexz and proceed.
Meet Amelia twice.
Faroz's Outpost
Repeat your steps from the prologue
Astra
hit him more physically and Relica than with spells.
You still have the status and Relica Points from the first phase. During the first Elemental Shift he is immune to anything, then he can be hit with the opposite element surrounding him. No EXP.
Boss Astra
Zelos: Karuka is out cold but Johan is back.
He starts with a Barrier, increasing DEF and MDEF on his main
body.
Defeat Hand R (can heal) ASAP to break his barrier (4500 HP).
Hand L binds a character. A bound
character cannot move and will lose HP each round.
The body can cast a multi-hit-laser on 8 random
targets.
Weak to holy, so first break the barrier and then deal as much damage on the main body as possible
with Relicas until the main body revives the hands.
Congratulation, you have finished the Game.
